MESSAGE FROM OUR BRANCH PRESIDENT:

Friends,

On March 8th, I attended an all day seminar held at the Portsmouth, New Hampshire Police Headquarters.  I received a personal invitation to participate in this most worthwhile event, which I found to be modern and progressive.  Attending this seminar/training were the city Police Commissioner, police chiefs, police officers, and personnel from various city social programs. 

The event was chaired by an Army field-grade officer. He was proficient in every way and the participants were actively engaged.  The training was particularly valuable because it addressed a number of problems of concern.  I had an opportunity to cite some situations that negatively impacted a few minorities within the community including a family, a senior citizen, and three ministers. I also suggested that, as a group, we should meet periodically to address problems requiring thought and reflection. 

NAACP NE Regional meeting:  I, along with assistant treasurer Rogers Johnson, participated in a Northeast Area Conference, (NEAC) event on March 22, 2008.  The program was held in Roxbury, MA and in attendance were branch presidents and officers from throughout NEAC.

Our April membership meeting will be exceptional!  The University Of New Hampshire will be providing a live performance of "The Meeting," a play written in the 1960s portraying a dramatic dialogue between Malcolm X and Martin Luther King. The production director is one of our own, Sean McGhee.
